THE RENT WALL
Shape carries the state, not just colour
A list makes you tap a renter to find out anything. A grid does not. Every tile says what it is by its shape as well as its colour, so the wall still reads for somebody who cannot separate the green from the red.

Weekly, fortnightly and monthly renters get their own sections with their own column headers, because a month is not four weeks and pretending otherwise makes both wrong.
THE WEEKLY ROUND
A tile, a tap, and a numbered receipt
Tap a tile and the sheet tells you what is due, what has come in and what is still owed. Marking a period paid in full is one more press. A part payment asks you for the amount first, because that is the one the app cannot guess.

ChairRent never touches the money. Cash and bank transfers change hands exactly as they already do. The app records what you enter, numbers the receipt and carries the arrears forward. There is no card processing anywhere in it.

Seven days late and thirty are different problems
Outstanding rent is grouped by how long it has been outstanding: 1 to 7 days, 8 to 30, and 31 or more. Tap any renter to open their statement. Each currency is subtotalled on its own, and there is no combined total anywhere, because adding two currencies together produces a confident number that means nothing.

The statement and the arrears summary export as PDF through the share sheet. Both documents are written in English, because the fonts they use carry no Arabic, Devanagari or CJK letters and a translated one would print empty boxes to whoever you hand it to.

What it will not do
It does not move money
There is no card processing, no payment link and no payout. Cash and transfers happen between you and your renter exactly as they already do. ChairRent is the ledger and the receipt, and nothing else.
It does not add up two currencies
Each renter keeps their own currency, and every total is subtotalled per currency. There is no combined figure anywhere in the app.
It does not contact your renters
No texts, no emails, no automated chasing. The reminders come to you. There is no renter app, so nobody you rent to has to install anything.
It does not blur who works for whom
The people renting from you run their own businesses, and the app is written that way from end to end. It never calls a renter an employee, and never uses payroll, wages or shift, in any of its ten languages. A test checks each language against its own words rather than against the English ones.
It does not lock your history
Everything you have already entered stays readable, exportable and printable whatever tier you are on. Backup is not restricted, because it is your own income record.

Before you install it
What does the Rent Wall actually show?
A row for every renter and a column for every rent period. Each tile carries its state in its shape as well as its colour, so a filled disc is paid, a part filled one shows how far, a heavy ring is overdue and hatching is waived. You can read a month without tapping anything.
Does ChairRent take the money?
No. Cash and bank transfers change hands exactly as they already do. ChairRent records what happened and issues the receipt. It never processes a payment and never holds a card.
Can renters pay part of a week?
Yes, and more than once against the same period. Anything overpaid carries forward as credit against the next period, and a period you decide to waive is recorded as waived rather than quietly written off.
What if my renters pay in different currencies?
Each renter keeps their own currency and each one is subtotalled on its own. There is no combined total anywhere in the app, because adding two currencies together produces a confident number that means nothing.
Does it chase my renters for me?
No. The reminders come to you: a nudge on the morning rent falls due and a weekly one while somebody is behind. ChairRent never sends a renter anything, and the people renting from you never need the app.
What happens to my records if I stop paying?
Nothing. Every renter, period, payment and receipt you have already entered stays visible, exportable and printable. The paid tier lifts the two renter cap and removes the ads, and backup is not restricted at any tier.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. There is no account and no sign in, and your records are held on the device. The standard tier shows a banner ad, and the app sends crash and usage diagnostics.
