A record for every batch.
Food, prep, trays, weight in, start time, pre-freeze hours, freeze and dry temperatures, extra dry time, food cost, weight out, a 1 to 5 rating, notes and up to six photos.
Freeze dryer batch log
Log what went into the freeze dryer, what came out and how long it ran. DryBatch works out the weight lost in drying and, with Pro, the cost per bag. It reminds you when the cycle ends and keeps the bags and jars you packed in use-first order.
What four trays of strawberries cost, down to the bag.
Weigh the trays going in and the food coming out, and DryBatch fills in the batch card. These are the figures on the card in the screenshot above.
The electricity figure is an estimate from the draw and the price you enter. Until you enter a price, the card asks for one instead of guessing.
Food, prep, trays, weight in, start time, pre-freeze hours, freeze and dry temperatures, extra dry time, food cost, weight out, a 1 to 5 rating, notes and up to six photos.
Tap Repeat batch on any card and the next run of that food starts from the same settings, with the start time set to now. The food library keeps each food’s most recent settings.
Type the time your machine says the cycle ends and DryBatch reminds you to check it, weigh it and log the result. A batch still in the machine sits at the top of the list with its due time.
One step: how many bags or jars, the size, the label, an oxygen absorber or not, the shelf and your best-by date.
Opened bags first, then the soonest best-by date, with the three soonest best-by dates at the top. Mark a bag opened or used, search by food or shelf, and filter by food group.
Packing a batch deducts the bags or jars and absorbers it used from your stock, and anything at or below its low mark shows as a short shopping list.
There is no account. Batches, photos and the pantry stay on your phone. Crash reports and app usage statistics are sent, and neither carries your records. Backup makes one file you can restore on another phone.
The cost is cycle hours times the draw you set times your price for a kWh. The draw starts at 600 W, a typical home unit’s average over a cycle. The 1,100, 1,500 and 1,700 W presets are the makers’ running figures and read high.
Best-by dates come from your own rule for each food. DryBatch does not judge whether food is dry, safe or shelf stable, and it never works out a shelf life.
Unlimited batches with photos, the batch card without the cost figures, Repeat batch, the finish alarm, the food library, backup and a pantry of 40 bags and jars. A banner ad shows on the Pantry and Supplies tabs.
No. It works with any home freeze dryer, but it does not connect to or control the machine. You type what you ran.

No. DryBatch never judges dryness, safety or shelf life. Best-by dates are the ones you set. Follow your machine’s manual and trusted food safety guidance.
Yes. Weights work in grams, or in ounces and pounds. Phones set to the United States start in ounces, and you can switch in Settings.
Every batch and bag stays readable and editable. Past 40 bags and jars, packing more into the pantry needs Pro again.
Yes. Save a backup file from Settings and restore it on the new phone. Backup works on every plan.
