And deliberately, nothing else

There is no Sunan, no Jami', no Muwatta and no Musnad in HadithPal, and no way to add one. Nothing graded weak sits beside the rest waiting to be mistaken for it. That is the point of the app rather than a gap in it: what you open is what the two Sahih collections contain, so you are not checking a grading label before you read.

Reading it

Arabic, with the language you read in

The Arabic is set in Amiri and the Urdu in Noto Nastaliq, the scripts they belong in. A switch in Settings puts English, Urdu, or both underneath the Arabic, and a slider takes the Arabic between 80% and 160% without touching the rest of the text.

Search, or jump to a number

Search runs over the Arabic, the English and the Urdu at once, and narrows to one collection if you want it to. Type a bare number instead and it goes to that reference, including the lettered ones such as 2564b.

A reader that keeps your place

Open a book and read one hadith to a page, swiping through it. A grid of reference numbers jumps anywhere in that book, and home offers you the last hadith you were on the next time you open the app.

A hadith each day

Home opens on one narration in a gold frame. It is worked out from the date, so everyone reading that day is on the same hadith, and it moves through the whole corpus without repeating. The reminder is optional, off until you ask for it, and set to whatever time suits you.

Bookmarks

Tap the bookmark on any hadith and it is kept whole, Arabic and translation together with its citation, in a list you can read straight from.

Sharing that carries the citation

Share as plain text and the Arabic, the translations you have switched on, and the full citation all go with it. Share as an image and you get a styled card with the same citation on it. A hadith never leaves the app unattributed.

Questions

Which collections are in HadithPal?

Two. The app holds 7,577 narrations from Sahih al-Bukhari across 97 books, and 7,426 from Sahih Muslim across 56 books. No other collection is included, and nothing is added from outside those two.

Whose translations does it use?

English is Dr. Muhsin Khan for Sahih al-Bukhari and Abdul Hamid Siddiqui for Sahih Muslim. Urdu is the community edition of the open hadith database. The Arabic is the original text; the English and Urdu are shown as translations of it.

Can I check a hadith against another source?

Yes. Every hadith has an info button that names its source, reference, translator and text source, and opens that same hadith on sunnah.com. The reference numbers follow sunnah.com numbering.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. All 15,003 hadith ship inside the app, so reading, search, bookmarks and the daily hadith work with no connection. A connection is only used to open sunnah.com or to share.

Is there an account, a paywall or ads?

None of the three. There is no sign-up, nothing is locked, and the app carries no advertising.

What are the donations for?

They are optional and they unlock nothing. Every part of the app is already open. A gift goes towards keeping HadithPal maintained.
