The same map for everyone, each day.
A new map opens at midnight where you are. Everyone gets the same map on the same date, wherever they are. The number in a shared grid is that day’s map.
Daily geography game
Each day MapSix shows a map with coastlines, rivers, roads and hills, and no place names. Type the city you think it is. Each miss tells you how far off you were, which way to go, and opens a clue.
That grid is a MapSix result. Each square is one try: dark for a miss, green for the solve, white for a try left unused. It hides the answer and the guesses. Open today’s map, have your six tries and compare results with your friend.

A wrong guess shows the distance to the answer, in kilometres or miles, and an arrow toward it. Pinch the map to look closer at a river bend or a coastline.
First the continent, then the population band, then a wider view of the region, then the country, then the first letter and how many letters the name has. The clues always come in the same order.
Search covers about 3,000 cities, including capitals and cities of 100,000 people or more. Names work in English or in any of the app’s 10 languages, and accents are optional, so Lodz finds Łódź.
Solved or not, the map fills in with the city’s name and its neighbours in your language, with a short line on the place: whether it is the capital, roughly how many people live there, and whether it sits on the coast.
Games played, win rate, current and best streak, how many tries each win took, and a calendar of every day you played. A streak counts maps solved on their own day.
There is no account and no sign-in. Guesses, results and streaks are stored in the app. When you solve a map, the app sends an anonymous count for that day. Once enough are counted, it shows how many people solved the map. It also sends crash reports and screen-view statistics.
A daily map is something you can talk about with someone who played the same one. Practice maps, with the unlock, are separate from the dailies, so they never give away a map still to come.
Every map is drawn from Natural Earth, public domain map data, with relief shading, rivers, lakes, roads and built-up areas. No place names or flags to give away the answer.
A new map opens at midnight in your time zone. Everyone gets the same map on the same date, and you have six tries to name the city.
Yes. Today’s map, your stats, streaks and sharing are open to everyone, every day.
No. The grid shows the map number and one square per try. It never includes the city or any guess.
Yes, with the unlock. The archive opens every past daily map. A map replayed from the archive does not change your streak.
Yes. The maps are inside the app, so you can play with no connection. The count of how many people solved today’s map shows only when you are online.
