OilDue

Oil change reminder

Know what your car needs next.

Type in your odometer and set your service intervals. OilDue estimates when the oil, filters, tyres and brakes are due from those numbers. Your MOT, insurance and road tax dates sit beside them.

The due screen: a family car at 23,480 miles, with gauges and predicted dates for oil, inspection and insurance

The prediction

Drag it and watch the date move.

See how mileage changes an estimated oil change date. A sample: 7,500 miles or 12 months, last done two months and 1,500 miles ago. In the app it runs on your own readings.

A sample, not a recommendation. Check your handbook.

What it does

One gauge for every job.

Oil and filter, air and cabin filters, tyres, brakes, coolant and anything you add. Each shows how far through its interval you are, the miles or kilometres left, and a predicted date.

Miles or months, first one wins.

Give a job a mileage, a number of months or both. With both set, OilDue uses the earlier of the estimated mileage date and the calendar deadline.

The odometer on a number pad.

Type what the dashboard says and the predicted date moves as you type. A number lower than the last one asks before saving, and a nudge comes if you have typed nothing for a month.

MOT, insurance and road tax.

These run on the calendar. Type the date from your certificate or renewal letter and it stays exactly as you typed it.

A maintenance log with receipts.

The date, the job, the odometer, the cost, the garage and a photo of the receipt. Saving a completed job resets the interval for that job.

Reminders that move with your mileage.

One a set number of days before each date and one on the day, at the time you choose. An "Alerts not arriving?" screen shows what your phone has switched off.

Worth knowing

Your records stay on your phone.

There is no account and no cloud sync for your car records. Google services are used for ads, crash reporting and usage statistics. A backup file moves your cars, records and receipt photos to a new phone, at every tier.

A prediction, and it says so.

Estimated dates are labelled "around". They come from the mileage you type and the intervals you set, so they are only as good as those numbers.

Your handbook comes first.

OilDue does not know your maker's schedule. Use your vehicle's maintenance schedule to set the intervals.

It certifies nothing.

It cannot say whether a car is safe or roadworthy. The history PDF is built from your own records and says so on its first page.

Questions

How does OilDue work out the date?

It takes the odometer readings you type, plus any mileage on your service records, and works out how far you drive a day, leaning on the last 90 days. It then works out when you will reach the next service mileage. If the months you set run out first, that date wins.

What if I only have one reading?

Until two numbers are at least a week apart, OilDue uses a calendar interval where you have set one. Tell it when and at what mileage a job was last done and that counts as a number.

Does it know my car's service schedule?

No. It starts each job with round figures for an ordinary car and you change them to match your handbook.

Does it read my MOT date from my number plate?

No. You type the date from your certificate, and it stays as you typed it.

Can a buyer rely on the history PDF?

It lists every job you recorded in date order with its receipt photo. It is your own record, not a certified service history, and it says that on the first page.

What does the standard tier include?

One car with every gauge, reminders, service records and backup, with a banner on the Costs tab. A one-time $4.99 payment adds unlimited cars, the history PDF and cost per mile, and removes the banner. Existing records stay available without the unlock.

Start with one reading.

Add your car, type the odometer and say when the oil was last changed.
