Does SmokeFree give medical advice?
No. SmokeFree is a quit-smoking and quit-vaping tracker, not a medical device or treatment. Every health milestone shown in the app is a near-verbatim quote from NHS or CDC public guidance with a direct citation link. If you need clinical support, see your doctor or call your country's smoking-cessation helpline.
What happens if I slip?
Your streak does not auto-reset. SmokeFree records the slip with neutral language — no failure, no relapse, no red icons. You choose whether to keep the streak going or reset to today. The default is to keep it. Slip data still feeds the stats and the time-of-day heatmap so you can spot patterns.
Is NRT counted as a slip?
Never. Nicotine replacement therapy is tracked separately as part of your quit. The NRT screen has its own log for patches, gum, lozenges, spray, and inhaler, plus a step-down schedule that reduces your dose on the cadence you set.
Does it work for vape quitters?
Yes — fully. SmokeFree supports three vape sub-types in onboarding (disposable, pod, juice ml). Each gets its own money math. Nicotine-mg step-down scheduling drops your dose by the percentage you choose every N days. The short-term milestones (heart rate, CO clearance, taste, smell, breath) apply to both smokers and vape quitters.
Where do the health milestones come from?
NHS (UK) and CDC (US) public guidance. Every milestone in the app has a Source label and a direct citation link to the canonical NHS or CDC page. We do not invent or paraphrase medical text — we summarise the source verbatim where possible.

Yes. The app is offline-first. Your quit profile, every craving, slip, NRT log, journal entry, and goal lives on your device. Cloud backup is opt-in and Pro-gated.
What about my privacy?
Your data stays on this device by default. SmokeFree does not upload cravings, slips, journal entries, or your buddy contact to any server. Anonymous crash and analytics events go to Google for stability, no personally identifying data. Settings → Privacy & Data lets you export everything as JSON or wipe everything in one tap.
