Why does this app need DND access?
Android only allows an app to control ringer and notification volume independently if it has Notification Policy access (DND). Without it, the system locks ringer and notification together. VolumeMate asks once during onboarding so the two sliders actually work the way you expect.
Why does Volume Lock actually stay locked?
VolumeMate runs a tiny foreground service that listens for volume changes and re-applies your locked levels within a fraction of a second. Most other apps lose the lock when the OS pauses them; ours keeps it alive on Android 13, 14 and 15.
Is there a subscription?
No. Premium is a single $4.99 in-app purchase. Buy it once, keep it forever, on every device signed into your Google account.
What happens after my 2 free profiles?
You can keep using your two profiles, the decibel meter, manual switching, and the Media-stream limiter for as long as you like. Premium unlocks unlimited profiles, schedules, smart triggers, and volume lock or limiter on every stream.
Does it work on tablets?
Yes. The home screen adapts to wider displays and shows your profile grid alongside the sliders, so a tablet feels like a tablet — not a stretched phone screen.
How do I set a profile to apply on Bluetooth connect?
Open Triggers, tap Bluetooth, pick the paired device (e.g. your car stereo or headphones), and pick the profile to apply when it connects. You can also enable 'restore on disconnect' so your previous profile comes back automatically.
