NeckReset Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
1. Introduction
ClearStack Apps ("we", "us", "our") operates the NeckReset mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use NeckReset. NeckReset is a neck, shoulder and upper-back stretch library with guided routines and a personal pain log.
Short version: Your routines, pain-log entries and any photos you attach stay on your device — they are never uploaded to our servers. Anonymous crash reports and ad data are sent to Google so we can fix bugs and show ads on the free tier. There is no account and no sign-in.
2. Information We Collect
2a. Information You Enter — Stored On Your Device Only
The following remains on your phone and is never transmitted to ClearStack Apps:
- Custom routines you build (selected stretches, order, hold times and sets)
- Pain-log entries (area, severity, trigger, optional note, optional photo)
- Completed-session history used for your streak and stats
- Settings (reminder cadence and time, onboarding state)
- Photos you attach to pain entries — the photo file stays in your device storage
2b. Automatically Collected — Sent To Google
By default these SDKs run inside NeckReset and send anonymised data to Google LLC:
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash logs, stack traces, device model, OS version and app version. Used to identify and fix bugs.
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous app interactions (screen views, feature-usage events), device model, OS, app version, and approximate location derived from IP. Used to understand how the app is used.
- Google AdMob (free tier only): Advertising ID, device model, OS, approximate location and ad-interaction events. Used to serve a banner ad. Pro purchasers see no ads and AdMob is not initialised for them.
2c. Purchase Information
The one-time Pro unlock is verified by Google Play Billing. NeckReset stores only the unlock state (the neckreset_pro_unlock product identifier) locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment-card details.
3. Consent for Ads (EEA & UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, NeckReset shows Google's consent message (UMP) before serving personalised ads on the free tier. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options. Upgrading to Pro removes ads entirely.
4. Data We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, NeckReset does not collect or transmit:
- Your routines, pain-log entries, or pain photos (these stay 100% on your device)
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Health records or medical history
- Financial information
- Precise location data
- Contacts, calendar, messages, files, or other media
- Voice or audio data
5. Data Retention
Routines, pain entries and session history remain on your device indefinitely or until you delete them. There is no automatic deletion.
Anonymous Crashlytics and Analytics data is retained by Google according to Firebase's data-retention policy. Advertising-ID data is retained by AdMob per Google's Privacy Policy.
6. How to Delete Your Data
6a. Delete In-App Data
Delete individual pain entries or routines from within the app. To remove everything at once, uninstall the app.
6b. Delete the App Entirely
Uninstalling NeckReset removes all on-device data. Because nothing is on our servers, uninstalling effectively wipes everything.
6c. Delete Telemetry Data Held by Google
To delete Crashlytics, Analytics and Advertising-ID data already sent to Google, follow Google's data-deletion process. ClearStack Apps cannot delete Google-held data on your behalf — it must be requested by you through your Google Account.
7. Children's Privacy
NeckReset is rated for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has used NeckReset, contact support@clearstackapps.com.
8. Not a Medical Device
NeckReset is an exercise library, not physical therapy. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition and is not a substitute for professional care. Stop any exercise that causes pain, and consult a physiotherapist or doctor for persistent pain, a recent injury, disc problems, or post-surgical recovery.
9. Third Parties
- Google LLC — Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics) and AdMob. Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing — one-time purchase processing. Google Payments Privacy Notice.
10. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / UK GDPR)
If you reside in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you. For NeckReset, the answer is: none on our servers. Crashlytics and Analytics hold anonymous device-level data per Google's policies.
- Rectify inaccurate data — same caveat; nothing to rectify on our end.
- Delete your data — see Section 6.
- Object to ad personalisation — use Settings → Ad privacy options, or upgrade to Pro.
- Withdraw consent — change your ad choice in Settings and/or uninstall the app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in app release notes.
