ReviveShot Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
1. Introduction
ClearStack Apps ("we", "us", "our") operates the ReviveShot mobile application. ReviveShot restores old photographs with an AI image model. This policy explains what the app keeps on your phone, what it sends to our server, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.
2. The Photo You Restore
The app finds the edges of your print and straightens it on your phone. When you tap Restore, the straightened picture is uploaded to our server, which passes it to an image model and sends the restored picture back.
- The upload: deleted as soon as the restore finishes. If a restore fails, the upload is kept for up to 2 hours so you can try again without sending it twice, then deleted.
- The restored picture: stored on our server only until your phone has saved it. The app then tells the server to delete it. If that message never arrives, it is deleted 24 hours after it was made.
- No training: nothing you upload is used to train an AI model, by us or by the model provider.
3. The Image Model
Restores are made by Google's Gemini image model on Google Cloud Vertex AI, called by our own server, with a short instruction built from the options you chose. Google processes the photo to make the restore and does not use it to train its models. The model is instructed to repair the existing photo and not to add, remove or swap people, but AI restoration can change small details. Added colour is a guess by the model, not a record of the real colours. Every restored file is marked as AI-restored in its file details, and free restores carry a ReviveShot watermark across the picture.
4. What Stays on Your Phone
Your library (every original and restored picture, and your albums) is stored in the app on your phone only. We do not back it up. You can export it from Settings as one zip file. Uninstalling the app deletes it. Pictures you save to your gallery are in your control there.
5. Your Account
There is no sign-up and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number. On first launch the app creates an anonymous account with Firebase Authentication, so our server can keep your balance. For each install we keep:
- your balance: free restores left, bought credits, and whether a plan is active
- a list of your restores: the date, the options you chose, whether it finished, and where its credit came from, never the picture
- if you make a move code to change phones, that code, which works once and for up to 7 days
6. Purchases
Purchases are handled by Google Play. When you buy, the app sends the purchase token to our server so it can confirm the purchase with Google, add your credits or plan, and renew or end a plan. We keep a record of each purchase so it is counted once. We never see or store your card details. A plan is cancelled in Google Play, not in the app.
7. Reports
If you report a restored picture, we keep that picture, the reason you picked and any note you write, for review. Reports are deleted after 90 days.
8. Crash Reports and Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): crash reports, stack traces, device model, operating system and app version, so we can find and fix bugs. These never include your photos.
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): basic usage events such as app opens and screen views. ReviveShot shows no ads and does not collect the advertising ID.
9. Who Else Handles Your Data
- Google LLC: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI, Crashlytics, Analytics and Google Play Billing, with our server data held in the United States. Firebase privacy information.
We do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for advertising. We do not look at your restores unless you report one.
10. Deleting Your Data
- Delete in the app: open Settings, then Delete everything. This deletes every picture in the app on your phone, and on our server deletes your install's record, balance, restore list and any files still held. It cannot be undone.
- After uninstalling: uninstalling removes your library from the phone. Anything left on our server is deleted on the schedule above, and the install record holds no name or contact details.
- Delete by email: write to support@clearstackapps.com with the date you last used the app and ask for your data to be deleted. We delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm.
Purchase records are kept so a purchase cannot be counted twice. Crash and analytics data follow Google's retention periods. Bought credits belong to an install: before changing phones, make a move code on the Credits screen and enter it on the new phone.
11. Permissions
- Camera and photos: you take a photo of a print with the phone's camera, or pick scans in the system photo picker. The app sees only the photos you choose.
- Storage (Android 9 and older only): to save a restored picture to your gallery.
- Internet: restores, purchases and crash reports.
12. Children
ReviveShot is made for adults and is not directed at children under 18.
13. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, EU GDPR and similar laws you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, and object to how it is used. Email us at the address below. You can also complain to the UK ICO or your local data protection authority.
