SaleTag Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

1. Introduction

ClearStack Apps ("we", "us", "our") operates the SaleTag mobile application and the sale preview pages it serves at saletag-pages.web.app. SaleTag is a record kept by an estate sale company of the sales it runs: the family or estate each sale is for, the house's rooms, every item with its photo and price, what sold and for how much, and the settlement. This policy explains what is stored, where, who can see it, how long it is kept and how to delete it. It covers SaleTag only; the rest of ClearStack Apps is covered by our main privacy policy.

2. What SaleTag Stores

  • The company's account: an anonymous account is created when the app first opens. If the company adds an email address and password, they are held by Google Firebase Authentication and never seen by us. The name a seat gives is stored with the company.
  • The company's settings: its name, page address, phone, email, website, a short description, currency and usual commission.
  • Sales: for each sale, the family or estate it is for, a contact line, the address and town, the dates and hours, the commission, markdowns by day and the notes and terms shown to shoppers.
  • Items: for each item, its photo, room, lot number, price, category, description, whether it shows on the page, what happened to it (for sale, sold, held, donated or returned), the sold price and the day, and the seat that last changed it.
  • Expenses entered for the settlement.
  • Purchase check: if the company buys a plan from Google Play, the purchase token, used only to confirm the purchase with Google and to renew or end the plan.

3. Photo Descriptions (Pro)

When a seat taps Draft from photo, that one item's photo is sent to Google's Gemini model on Vertex AI to draft a one-line description and a category. Nothing else from the company's records is sent, the request is made only on that tap, and Google does not use it to train its models under the Vertex AI terms. The draft is shown to the seat to keep or edit; nothing is saved unless they save it.

4. Crash Reports and Analytics

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): crash reports, device model, operating system and app version, so we can find and fix bugs.
  • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): basic usage events such as app opens and screen views, tied to a random ID for the app on your phone. The advertising ID is not collected.

These never include items, photos, names or addresses. SaleTag shows no third-party ads. The free tier shows a banner for ClearStack's own website service; nothing from the company's records is used to choose it. Nothing in a company's records is sold or shared with advertisers.

5. Where It Is Stored

On Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. The app keeps a copy on the phone so a house can be walked and the register used without a connection; items and photos made offline stay on the phone until they are sent.

6. Who Can See It

  • Every seat of the company (the owner and, on Pro, up to three helpers) sees the company's sales and items.
  • Anyone with a sale page's address sees what the company published there: the company's name and contact details, the sale's title, town, dates and hours, the items marked as shown on the page with their photos and, if the company chose, their prices. If the company leaves the address hidden, the street address appears only from the day before the sale. A page changes only when the company publishes it again, and comes down when the company takes it down or deletes the sale.
  • We do not read companies' records. Google acts as our processor to store them.

7. Deleting the Company or Your Account

In the app: Settings, then Delete account, and confirm. Or email support@clearstackapps.com from the address on the account. When the owner deletes the account, the whole company goes with it: every sale, room, item, photo and expense, every published page and the page address. A member of staff who deletes their account leaves the company; what they recorded stays in the company's sales.

A single sale can be deleted from the sale's menu, which takes its page down first. Crash reports are kept by Firebase for 90 days and then deleted.

8. Your Copy of the Data

On the Settle tab, Settlement PDF and Export CSV (Solo and Pro) give a sale's figures and every item. Email us for anything else.
