FarmShare Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Introduction
ClearStack Apps ("we", "us", "our") operates the FarmShare mobile application and the signup and member pages it serves at farmshare-pages.web.app. FarmShare helps a farm run its CSA: the season, the shares it sells, its members, their payments and the pickup sheets. This policy explains what is stored, where, who can see it, how long it is kept and how to delete it. It covers FarmShare only; the rest of ClearStack Apps is covered by our main privacy policy.
2. What FarmShare Stores
- The farmer's account: an anonymous account is created when the app first opens. If the farmer or a helper adds an email address and password, they are held by Google Firebase Authentication and never seen by us.
- The farm's records: the farm's name and contact details, the season dates, share types and prices, pickup sites, and the pickup sheets (who collected on which day).
- Members: what the farm typed or the member entered on the signup page: name, email, phone, the share, add-ons and pickup site, how they pay, allergies or preferences if given, notes, and the skips, swaps and questions sent from their member page.
- Payments: payments the farm logs by hand (amount, method, date, note) and, for farms that take payments online, a record of each payment Stripe reports (amount, date, and Stripe's own reference numbers). Card details go to Stripe and are never stored by FarmShare.
- Purchase check: if the farmer buys a plan from Google Play, the purchase token, used only to confirm the purchase with Google and to renew or end the plan.
3. Online Payments
A farm on Pro can connect its own Stripe account. Members then pay the farm through Stripe's checkout; the money goes to the farm's Stripe account, never to FarmShare. Stripe handles the card data under its own privacy policy. FarmShare receives a 1% platform fee on these payments through Stripe.
4. Emails to Members
On Pro, a member who ticked the box on the signup page, or whom the farm marked as agreeing, receives an email the day before their pickup. It is sent through Resend from noreply@clearstackapps.com, with replies going to the farm. Members who did not agree are never emailed by FarmShare.
5. Crash Reports and Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): crash reports, device model, operating system and app version, so we can find and fix bugs.
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): basic usage events such as app opens and screen views, tied to a random ID for the app on the phone. The advertising ID is not collected.
These never include member names or farm records. FarmShare shows no third-party ads. The free tier shows a banner for ClearStack's own website service; nothing from the farm's records is used to choose it. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
6. Members' Pages
Members do not create an account. Each member's page is reached through a long random link that names no one; the farm can revoke it. The pages set no cookies and are marked so search engines do not index them.
7. Where It Is Stored
On Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. The app keeps a local copy on the farmer's phone so the pickup sheet keeps working where there is no signal.
8. Who Can See It
- The farmer, and on Pro one helper the farmer invites, see the farm's records.
- A member sees only their own share, pickups and payments on their page. The signup page shows only what the farmer published: the farm's details, the season, the shares and the pickup sites.
- We do not read farms' records. Google acts as our processor to store them.
9. How Long It Is Kept and Deleting It
Records stay until the farm deletes them. The farm can delete a member, a payment it logged, a share or a site at any time. To delete everything: in the app, Settings, then Delete account, and confirm, or email support@clearstackapps.com from the address on the account. When the owner deletes the account, every share, site, member, payment, pickup sheet and link of the farm is deleted, online installments still running are stopped, and the signup page stops. More detail is on the account deletion page.
A member who wants their details removed can ask the farm, or email us with the farm's name. Crash reports are kept by Firebase for 90 days and then deleted.
