HostPage Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
1. Introduction
ClearStack Apps ("we", "us", "our") operates the HostPage mobile application and the guest guidebook pages it serves at hostpage-pages.web.app. HostPage is a guidebook a holiday rental host writes for their guests: how to get there and get in, the wifi, house rules, appliances, checkout steps and local tips. This policy explains what is stored, where, who can see it, how long it is kept and how to delete it. It covers HostPage only; the rest of ClearStack Apps is covered by our main privacy policy.
2. What HostPage Stores
- The host's account: an anonymous account is created when the app first opens. If the host adds an email address and password, they are held by Google Firebase Authentication and never seen by us. The name the host gives is stored with the account.
- The guidebooks: each property's name, address, timezone, check-in and checkout times, door code (if the host enters one), welcome line, sections, photos and the host's contact card (name, phone, email and a note).
- Published pages: when the host taps Publish, a snapshot of that property's guidebook is served publicly at the address the host chose. The door code is included only if the host allows it, and on the "dated links" setting it is shown only on a link carrying a guest's stay dates, from the day before arrival to checkout day.
- Page views (Pro): a count per property per day, kept when a guest's browser loads the page. No guest's name, IP address, device or location is stored.
- Local tips drafts (Pro, optional): when the host asks for suggestions, the property's address is sent to Google's Gemini model on Vertex AI to draft five tips. The drafts are shown to the host and nothing is kept unless the host saves it.
- Purchase check: if the host buys a plan from Google Play, the purchase token, used only to confirm the purchase with Google and to renew or end the plan.
3. Crash Reports and Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): crash reports, device model, operating system and app version, so we can find and fix bugs.
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): basic usage events such as app opens and screen views, tied to a random ID for the app on your phone. The advertising ID is not collected.
These never include guidebook text, door codes or photos. HostPage shows no third-party ads. The free tier shows a banner for ClearStack's own website service; nothing from the guidebooks is used to choose it. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
4. Guests Who Open a Page
Guests do not create an account and nothing is installed. Their browser loads the page and a one-line view count is recorded as described above. The page asks no questions and sets no tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request like any web page that uses them.
5. Where It Is Stored
On Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Photos are stored the same way and can be opened only by the host's signed-in seats until a page that shows them is published. The app keeps a local copy on the phone so the editor works offline.
6. Who Can See It
- The host, and on Pro one co-host the host invites, see every guidebook in the account.
- Anyone with a published page's address or its QR code sees what that page shows.
- We do not read hosts' guidebooks. Google acts as our processor to store them.
7. Deleting Data
In the app: Settings, then Delete account, and confirm. Or email support@clearstackapps.com from the address on the account. When the host deletes the account, every property, section, photo and published page is deleted, and every page address is released, so printed QR cards stop working. A co-host who deletes their account leaves the host's account. Unpublishing a property takes its page down at once while keeping the guidebook in the app. More detail is on the account deletion page.
Crash reports are kept by Firebase for 90 days and then deleted.
8. Your Copy of the Data
On the Preview tab, Print guide saves the whole guidebook as a PDF. Email us for anything else.
